Akindele Wasiu Dolamu FCNA, FCTI, MCFI, a Director of Audit, Treasury Department of the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation (OAuGF) has launched and published a book on “Risk Based Approach to Financial Auditing on the 27th September, 2022.
This book is a product of over 30 years of his experience in the auditing profession. It is a practical demonstration of Accounting/Auditing Standards of substance over form backed up with practical case studies Its content covers the nitty-gritty of Risk Based Audit (RBA) and has been arranged in a philosophical and logical sequence.
Akindele said the book, which focuses on a new area of auditing, would ultimately ensure more professional auditors and efficient service delivery in public and private sectors.
“The book will be very useful in the sense that it dwells on the meticulous examination of financial statements and in the process of examining it you are likely to come across some misstatements and how to mitigate them.
“So the benefit to the nation is that auditors will be well armed before carrying out their assignment and this will ultimately lead to better accountability and transparency in public and private organizations.
Akindele therefore stressed the need for professional auditors and exploring new ways of ensuring value for money in government financial activities for the benefit of the nation.
Every reader will appreciate the enormous wealth of experience and skills the author has brought to bear in the compilation of this book; significantly rich in content, from both theoretical and practical perspective.
The book may appear small in outlook but extremely rich in content, a practical demonstration of the accounting standard of substance over form.
