Auditor-General For The Federation Calls For Proper Taxation

The Auditor-General for the Federation, Mr Adolphus Aghughu has stressed the need for proper taxation as a good source of revenue generation that will help in the growth of the economy.  He stated this while receiving a delegation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation led by its Chairman/President in Council, Dame Gladys Olajumoke Simplice on Thursday, 11th March 2021.  He also stated that there was a need for his Office to partner with the Institute in ensuring complete professionalism in the Nigeria Tax System.

In her remarks, the Institute’s Chairman, Dame Gladys Simplice congratulated Mr Aghughu who is also a fellow of the Institute on his appointment as the Auditor-General for the Federation and hoped that the visit would help foster a good working relationship between the two (2) Offices and also spoke on the possibility of organizing capacity building programmes for staff of the Audit House.

She then solicited for the assistance of the Auditor-General towards the 2021 Annual Conference of the Insitute by sponsoring the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation’s staff to the Conference in Kaduna, 18th – 21st May 2021.

The Chartered Institute of Taxation is the Regulatory body for the practice of Taxation duties in Nigeria.
